A New Concept to Newfoundland
This 50mi Race will consist of Timed Laps, a new concept to Newfoundland. Trail Running Pace is quite Slower than Road Running Pace so please do not compare the two!
The 8.3mi Loop will be attempted both CCW (Like the 4.3mi and 8.3mi participants) as well as the CW Loop. Participants will have 2 hours to complete the 8.3mi Loop before the clock resets as well as the direction.
Some runners will find themselves back at the loop finish well in advance of the 2-hour cut-off time. This is fine, however they are not permitted to attempt the next loop until the 2 hours has elapsed. At this time, all returning runners will then be eligible to attempt the next loop. Racers who fail to cross the finish line within the 2 hour limit will be eliminated from the race when/if they return.
The winner of the Liminality Endurance Race will be the Top Male and Female who completes the most Laps. If it is a tie, it will be the Top Male and Female who completes the most Laps in the fastest accumulated run time.
For Example:
Joe is the only competitor to complete 4 laps. The other male competitors failed on their 4th lap attempt. Joe wins.
Dawn and Maria are the only females to finish 4 laps, Dawn attempts her 5th and fails, Maria does not attempt her 5th. Accumulated Lap time will then be considered on the completed laps to determine the winner.
6 Loops will be attempted alternating CW and CCW. To challenge you, I believe it is highly unlikely that anyone can finish this race.
Pacers and Crew teams will be permitted, however Pacers can only enter the race after the 4th Loop. Like other races, pacers will not be permitted to carry supplies for runners.

Course Description:
Please refer to the 8.3mi Race Description. Once this Loop is finished, the next will begin at the top of 2 hours with the same initial start and direction. Recall the two Direction Signs that must be followed in the 8.3mi Race. Now, competitors must run the CW Route TURNING LEFT. Markings will be clearly made such that runners are not confused throughout the race. This is the challenge and beauty of the race. Not only is this race physically demanding with time constraints, but it is mentally fatiguing with essentially an 8.3mi route ran in two directions, a bunch of times.
If you're looking for a traditional linear race, there are many out there. If you're looking for a new challenge, try to see how many loops you can do before your body or brain gives up.

NOTE TO TEAM COMPETITORS
3 People will form a team. Each Runner will cover a CCW and CW Loop along the same format as the Solo Runners. Runner 1 will do the first two, Runner 2 the next two, Runner 3 the last two. Teams will be 'disqualified' if a runner fails to finish in the 2-hour cut-off. However, each member of the relay team will be eligible to participate in their section regardless if their teammate fails to return on time. There is consideration that besides a team time, individual team members may also be awarded a top prize. Also keep in mind that the 3rd runner will be running at least 1 loop in the dark!
